The nation’s corn crop is rated 57 percent good to excellent by USDA this week, down 1 point from last week’s rating.  72 percent of the crop was rated good to excellent last year at this time.


35 percent of the corn crop is silking compared to the five-year average of 66 percent.  5 percent of the crop is in the dough stage compared to the five-year average of 10 percent.


Minnesota’s corn crop is rated 57 percent good to excellent, down 1 point from last week’s rating.  21 percent of Minnesota’s corn crop is silking compared to the five-year average of 56 percent.  



The nation’s soybean crop is rated 54 percent good to excellent, the same as last week.


40 percent of the crop is blooming compared to the five-year average of 66 percent.   7 percent of the nation’s soybean crop is setting pods compared to the five-year average of 28 percent.


Minnesota’s soybean crop is rated 60 percent good to excellent, the same as last week’s rating.  47 percent of the crop is blooming compared to the five-year average of 70 more
