The nation’s corn crop is rated 73 percent good to excellent, up 1 point from last week’s USDA rating.  56 percent of the crop was rated good to excellent last year at this time.  4 percent of the crop is silking compared to the five-year average of 7 percent.
 
Minnesota’s corn crop is rated 84 percent good to excellent, down 1 point from last week’s rating.
 
Iowa’s corn crop is rated 85 percent good to excellent, the same as last week.
 
South Dakota’s corn crop is 80 percent good to excellent, down from 82 percent last week.
 
67 percent of the Illinois corn crop is rated good to excellent, up from 59 percent last week.
 
Indiana’s corn crop is rated 63 percent good to excellent.
 
North Dakota’s corn crop is rated 67 percent good to excellent, down from 69 percent last week.
 
The nation’s soybean crop is rated 71 percent good to excellent, down 1 point from last week’s USDA rating.  54 percent of the soybean crop was rated good to excellent last year at this time.
 
14 percent of the nation’s soybean crop is blooming compared to the five-year average of 11 percent.
 
Minnesota’s soybean crop is rated 81 percent good to excellent, the same as last week. 7 percent of the crop is blooming compared to the five-year average of 4 percent.
 
Iowa’s soybean crop is rated 83 percent good to excellent, down 1 point from last week.  16 percent of the crop is blooming and that’s a head of the five-year average of 7 percent.
 
South Dakota’s soybean crop is rated 80 percent good to excellent, down 1 point from last week’s rating.  21 percent of the crop is blooming compared to the five-year average of 5 percent.
 
North Dakota’s soybean crop is rated 70 percent good to excellent.
 
68 percent of the Illinois soybean crop is rated good to excellent and that’s up from 60 percent last week.
 
Indiana’s soybean crop is rated 64 percent good to excellent.
 
Minnesota’s spring wheat crop is rated 80 percent good to excellent and is 45 percent headed.
